RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

- You will also be expected to think critically, make important decisions throughout the sales process, adapt favorably to any situation that a customer may bring upon you, and behave in such a fashion as to avoid disruptions in the path to customer satisfaction.

Northwest Harley-Davidson is currently looking for an experienced Harley-Davidson Technician to join our award-winning team. Must be able to repair, customize, perform maintenance, or overhaul both customer and dealer owned motor vehicles. Maintain excellent quality work and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities and Duties
Service Department Operations
Provide prompt, dependable, high quality, vehicle service to (internal & external) customers.
Complete repair work within the scheduled or allotted time period whenever possible. Continually improve this “efficiency” skill.
Accept work assignments from Service Writer / Manager and perform in correct order.
Request parts quote for the job as early as possible when needs become known. Do not start repairs before authorization is received from the customer.
Perform service, repair and customization work in accordance with factory specifications.
Assist Service Writer, when requested, with writing up work orders, communication with customers including clarifying customer concerns or any other issue which will help ensure customer satisfaction.
Notify Service Writer / Manager of any additional work needed or any delays in expected completion as soon as they become known so that customer may be contacted for authorization or notified of the delay.
After a job is finished, ensure proper completion and filing of paperwork.
Keep work areas as clean as possible and assist others with maintaining shop cleanliness.
Maintain technical qualification by completing any necessary training programs when they become available or assigned to you by the Service Manager.
Care for Company-owned tools and return them to correct location as soon as finished with them. Report any damaged tools immediately.
Report all damage to any vehicle while in our care regardless of who is responsible to the Service Manager, Shop Forman or Service Writer immediately.
Minimize come-backs and deal with them promptly and satisfactorily when they do occur.
Keep customers’ vehicle cleaner that when it was dropped off.
Answer customer questions as needed.
Give a complete description of repair on work order including problem found and repairs performed.
When finished with job perform “One last QA/look over of R.O. and bike” before test ride to assure all concerns where addressed and of satisfactory quality.
Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously, and with dignity.
Model superior customer service behavior for all interactions with customers and employees both on and off-site.
Be prompt and available for flexible scheduling.
Maintain up to date technical qualification by completing all training programs assigned by the Service Manager.
Focus on quality.
Maintain a positive attitude towards customers, employees and management.
Qualifications and Skills
MMI or equivalent Harley-Davidson Certifications - Required.
A least 2 years or more of Harley-Davidson dealership experience - Required.
Dependable, organized and self-motivated - Required.
Own your tools to perform the tasks required at your proficiency level - Required.
Valid driver's license with motorcycle endorsement - Required.
